Metropolis 1927 Review

So this one is a P-E-R-F-E-C-T watch
I loved it from the Start to End... Every scene had worth and every scene was subtely heavy too... This movie works in so many layers and nails every damn layer..... This works so well that even after a century It is not even a bit outdated.. Be it the Egyptian age nod or Slavery nod, or the old age references, everything is done perfectly..

Acting performances were all worthy, be it the Main Leads, Main antagonist or even kids and the robot everyone Justified their roles Especially the actress playing Maria and Machine Man, she simply was great...

Story was profound, I mean it was like many things happened in 2:30 hrs and it all had meaning and it was beautiful... It was great from first sequence to last one... It was really well handled in case of editing and I would love to appreciate its screenplay as well that too was profound... On surface it looks SciFi and rightly so it deals with Science and Fiction Elements but beneath the surface it talks about spirituality, relationship between Father and son, Romance, Slavery, how we still resemble to the first ages... And all that aged beautifully, it still is true in literally many aspects, or I'll say it got truer by the time... And is most honest thing available as of now...

Now the sets were one thing I would really want you to acknowledge, Sets were grand and keeping in view the time it was made, Set designers did a really compelling job on designing the sets, every damn set was profound and well established...

Director did make a really compelling Masterpiece, this one really comes across as gem in true meaning, It was brilliant in every aspect, Director made a movie that will live forever, atleast survived a century without being outdated

Camera Work glorified the Sets, gave meaning to many scenes and took it all one greater height...

Although BGM was a bit loud, as for many old movies, but it suits for most of the points.... so the points where it was loud should be ignored..

If you ask me, go for the silent one

10/10
